Airlines have already cancelled more than 2,300 flights today as a major winter storm system moves through north-eastern USA.
Nearly all airlines cancelling flights have waived change fees as the fast-moving winter storm threatened to bring heavy snow to portions of the Northeast.
The storm was forecast to affect a large area of the Northeast, possibly disrupting flights at airports from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and New England.
Airports in the Baltimore-Washington area may also be affected as forecasts predict rain changing to snow, though conditions are expected to be less severe than in the North.
