    12th Dec 2016

    Southern Rail strike update.

Southern Rail has advised passengers not to travel unless absolutely necessary, as drivers start a three-day walkout.

Members of the drivers union Aslef are due to walk out from tomorrow Tuesday, 13 December in the dispute over driver-only trains. The strike is set to affect Southern Rail services as well as the Gatwick Express.

Significant disruption is expected on 13, 14 and 16 December. Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of time to get to your destination. You may want to consider alternative methods of transport over this period.

    Which services will be affected?

There will be no Southern services

There will be no Gatwick Express services from Gatwick to Brighton.

Thameslink services are not expected to be affected by the strike but will be extremely busy. Great Western services to Reading will not be affected.

Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express will be accepting each other’s tickets during the strike.
