Ilunion seguridad workers at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport have postponed an indefinite strike scheduled from Wednesday 16th August until Friday 1st September as negotiations continue. Ilunion seguridad is the company responsible for patrols and security checks of airport staff and crew, as well as scanners used for checked luggage at Barcelona airport.
The other conflict concerning Eulen workers, which has been affecting operations at El Prat Airport, is expected to reach an end soon. Yesterday morning, Eulen, the company that employs the striking staff who operate the airport’s security scanners, accepted a proposal made during negotiations mediated by the Catalan regional government.
However, security lines at El Prat were taking an hour to clear on Wednesday morning, despite there being no planned strikes for the day. Lines were also forming at airline counters as concerned passengers arrived early to the airport.
