As a result of the fault in both the North and South Terminals of Gatwick Airport this morning, delays are being experienced at check in, some flights are experiencing delays and some flights are departing without all baggage. A statement on the Gatwick Airport website is advising that bags will be forwarded to passengers at their destination as soon as possible.
British Airways have also released a statement stating that many of their flights are departing with lower than expected levels of baggage. They also reassured passengers that they would be working with airports and Customs Officials to ensure that any delayed bags are reunited with their owners as quickly as possible and free of charge.
Customers who are affected by the baggage issue are advised to liaise with their airline to check on the progress of their baggage.
