RMT union announces strike on 8 November

Several major rail routes into London have announced a fresh strike to take place next month.

Rail workers on Southern, South Western Railway and Greater Anglia have declared industrial action, and are set to stage a 48-hour walkout from Wednesday 8^th November.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union announced the walkout as part of an ongoing dispute over the role of train guards and driver-only operation on trains.

It has also been announced that Union members on Merseyrail and Arriva Rail North will strike for 24 hours on the same date.
