Multiple strikes planned in Italy next week

Alitalia, Easyjet and local transport workers plan to go on strike in several Italian cities on Friday 12th May.

Minimum services will be guaranteed from 7 am – 10 am and from 6 pm – 9 pm (local time).

As well the planned 24-hour walkout by a number of air travel providers, those passengers travelling to Rome, Turin and Bologna will also be affected by local transport strikes.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline to confirm flight status before travelling.

In addition workers at Azienda del Trasporto Autoferrotranviario del Comune di Roma (ATAC), the major operator of public transportation in Rome, are to go on 24-hour strike on  Thursday 11th May.

The strike will affect all modes of public transportation in the city including bus, tram, metro and rail services.
