Loganair recently opened an operating base at Newcastle International Airport demonstrating their investment in the region, increasing connectivity and creating new job opportunities.
Initially introducing services to the Norwegian city of Stavanger and Europe’s administrative centre, Brussels, this month saw the launch of their new route from Newcastle to the Granite City. We were delighted that Gill, one of our corporate travel consultants, was invited to experience the service first-hand.
Gill stated: “The North East has strong ties with Scotland, particularly with the offshore energy sector, this service will strengthen those ties and, hopefully, lead to greater collaboration.”
With an official flight time of 50 minutes, Gill’s journey took only 35 minutes once they were up in the air. In addition to the convenience of a wonderfully brief journey up to the Highlands, this new service will deliver a panoply of benefits to our business community including:
–Frequency of service with up to three services each weekday plus Sunday evening, operated by Embraer Regional Jet aircraft
–Reliable and punctual service, providing complimentary baggage allowance and in-flight refreshments (Gill particularly enjoyed the Tunnock’s caramel wafer!)
–Onward connections:
For commuting offshore workers
To Orkney, Shetland, Esbjerg and Oslo – all served non-stop by Loganair
–Special fares, providing savings and flexibility:
For Vantage Card registered oil and gas employees
Negotiated corporate fares
–Benefits of membership to Loganair’s frequent flyer programme, Clan Loganair
Since the launch, Loganair has announced further expansion out of Newcastle with new services to the Norwegian coastal city of Bergen and to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, benefitting business and leisure travellers alike.
27 April 2020 will see the first of the four-times weekly services to Bergen with seasonal Saturday flights to Guernsey operating between May 23 and September 5. Both routes will be operated by a 37-seat Embraer 135 jet aircraft with a flight time of 95 minutes to Bergen and 90 minutes to the Channel Island.
