    London Tube strike 5 October

The majority of train drivers on the London Underground are set to stage industrial action next Thursday in a row over demands for a four-day week.

Staff belonging to the union Aslef plan to strike for 24 hours on 5th October, threatening to cause major disruption across the Tube network.

Talks between union bosses and transport chiefs are on-going, with next Wednesday being the latest point at which the action could be called off.

If the strike goes ahead, all Tube lines will be operating with significantly reduces services. As a result, commuters will have to use alternative transport and football fans will also encounter difficulty getting to Wembley for England’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia

The London Overground and DLR which are operated separately, will be unaffected by the industrial action. Main line services run by Transport for London and other operators will run as normal but are expected to be significantly busier.
